How much extra power can my vehicle gain from a  remap?

Once your vehicle has been remapped, you can typically expect to see the following increases in power:

• Non-turbo petrol engine: Up to 10% more power

• Non-turbo diesel engine: Up to 10% more power

• Turbo-petrol engine: Up to 20% more power

• Turbo-diesel engine: Up to 35% more power

MAX-Tune 'before' and 'after' test

To the right you can access two read-outs of a 'before' and 'after' static shot of a vehicles performance once it has been remapped. The vehicle is hooked up to a 'dyno' where various engine measurements can be taken. This vehicle readout was carried out on a standard mid-power vehicle which has been remapped with the MAX-Tune service. The vehicle received an increase in power of just over 35 brake horse power (BHP), which is quite typical of the results of a MAX-Tune.
 
Turbo diesel injection models (TDI's) tend to benefit the most from the ecu remapping service. This is partly due to the fact that the turbo on a TDI engine kicks in lower down the RPM range. Diesel engines naturally have more torque than their petrol counterparts, which means more torque can be delivered directly into the transmission.

Delivering more power sooner on in the rev range

Besides providing your vehicle with more BHP and torque, the MAX-Tune remapping service actually makes this power available earlier on in the rev ranges compared to what you are accustomed to. 

In other words, peak engine power and torque arrive sooner than in a standard, un-remapped engine. High engine revs become unnecessary because the engine is producing the same or higher power output at a lower rpm. Since most drivers will typically use the mid rev range, they will readily see an improvement in both engine flexibility and fuel consumption. This is where the best practical use of ecu remapping can be felt. 

What engine processes does an ECU remap modify?

When ECU-RS remap your vehicle, a number of engine processes are optimised in order to make sure your vehicle benefits as much as possible from the remap. Unlike 'tuning boxes' which are external plug-ins, the customised remaps which we provide can modify up to 25 different files within the ECU. ECU remapping is the most effective means to safely enhance the overall performance of an engine.
