Since the launch of Audi's performance road car, the R8 has continued to turn heads wherever it has been seen. This sports car which uses Audi's all wheel drive Quattro system and an aluminium monocoque construction, is seen by many to be the peak of innovation and design of German engineering.

ECU remapping within the safe tolerance zones...

ECU remapping enables modern vehicles to run as they were designed to, with more power and greater response. All remaps which ECU-RS carry out are customised to the vehicle and made within the safe tolerance zones that each vehicle manufacturer specifies.

Once a vehicle is remapped, power becomes available further down in the rev ranges. The overall outcome is that you no longer have to drive your vehicle in the high rev ranges in order to receive the maximal output.

FAQ's: Why would my vehicle not have the optimal maps installed as standard?

Vehicle manufacturers are restricted by law to limit the power available in the engine map between 2000 – 3000 RPM. This was introduced to reduce emissions but the consequence of this is that drivers use more throttle to counteract the lack of power and in fact increase emissions.

Manufactures also build in tolerances to account for people who may not have their vehicles serviced in accordance with the recommended service period. A way of doing this is to limit the power available through settings in the ECU.
